Sri Damodar Temple

This sacred temple is often visited by Hindus as well as Christians and is dedicated and devoted to Lord Damodar said to be a form of Lord Shiva. Since it lies on the banks of river Khushawati the temple is a very sacred site and is believed to have miraculous healing powers.

Our Lady of Grace Church

Located just a 5-minute drive from The Treat Hotel, Our Lady of Grace (Main Altar), Bom Jesus, and Saint Roque are the three altars in the Church. Fr. Bernard Coutinho (1598-1648) was the first diocesan priest to be confirmed as Vicar of Our Lady of Grace Church, a position he held for 50 years. Every year on the third Sunday in May, the Feast of Our Lady of Grace Church is observed. During Portuguese times, the wealth of the people of Choro Island drew traders from all over the world, who came to sell luxury goods; the feast of Nossa Senhora da Graça was one such occasion for such a gathering at a grand fair. The history and grandeur associated with this church is a must visit for tourists visiting Margao.

Benaulim Beach
